Self-compassion is an essential feeling and skill to cultivate as it helps us to manage the pain, hardship and suffering of living in this complex, uncertain, changing, and sometimes aggressive world. It is a reminder on how self-care is very important especially during tough times and rebuilding one's resilience.

The more we practice mindfulness (nonjudgmental awareness), the more we prioritize self-compassion as a way to simply take care of ourselves, to value ourselves as much as anyone else, and to replenish ourselves for the service of others.
