A note from Sean
Most people blend a sensation with the story about it. It helps to pull them apart. What is the physical part, plainly? Is it pleasant, unpleasant, or neither? Then notice whether you have called it bad or wrong, and soften that judgment.
Try this today. The next time a feeling is strong, find where it lives in your body. Give the sensation one plain word, like “tight” or “swirling.” When a story shows up, note “story” and come back to the sensation for three breaths.

This suits anyone who gets swept up by big feelings. If a feeling is overwhelming, start with a part of the body that feels safe, like your feet or hands. Go gently. Stop when you need to.
