    A note from Sean

Try this today. Rest a hand on your chest. For a few breaths, imagine caring for yourself the way a loving mother cares for a child: warm, steady, supportive. Notice what you feel in your chest and belly. If it feels okay, picture one person you love and offer them the same care. Write down how it felt, and how you might carry that into your day.

Not everyone has a warm picture of a mother. If yours was hard to be near, is absent, or is gone, use another word, like a grandparent, a mentor, or a caring friend, or simply breathe. Skip any step that feels too much, including picturing someone who hurt you. If grief or hurt rises, go gently. Stop when you need to.
