    Mindfulness as Strength

Gil Fronsdal talks about Mindfulness as Strength: being careful and paying attention to what’s happening in the present, since otherwise there’s confusion and judgment.

    A note from Sean

It takes strength to open to what is, and to be vulnerable, without the reaction or the projection.

Try this today. The next time you feel the urge to react, to a message, a comment, or a headline, take one breath first. Feel your feet. Name what is happening: “tight chest, wanting to snap back.” Then choose your reply.

Keep going: Building Inner Strength Worksheet and Quiet Strength: The Power of Equanimity.

This suits anyone who reacts first and regrets it later. If what you are reacting to is grief, anger, or something that hurts, go gently. Staying near the edge of it is enough. Stop when you need to.
