Sean Fargo leads a guided meditation on Loving Kindness. Metta or loving-kindness is the movement of love and sense of care towards others.

    A note from Sean

When I practice loving-kindness, I go in baby steps. I start with someone it is easy to care for. Then I move to a good friend, then someone I barely know, and later someone I find difficult. I don’t start with my nemesis.

Try this today. Bring to mind one person who is easy to care for. Rest a hand on your chest. For five slow breaths, silently wish them well in words you actually feel, such as safe, healthy, happy, at ease.

This suits beginners and long-time practitioners. If wishing someone well brings up hurt or grief, stay with the easy person, or stop. Go gently. Stop when you need to.
