Gil Fronsdal leads a Guided Meditation Beautyful. Someone skilled in meditation is someone who is skilled with the beauty of meditation. Goodness, virtue.

…Moral goodness, excellent. It’s to describe someone who is ethical. An ethical person has a beautiful character.

Beautyful describes the Dharma. Dharma in the beginning, in the middle and in the end. Though some struggles in the middle and the end. The sense of the beautiful, the beauty that is here.

Part of the spiritual beauty that we can orient ourselves toward into practice with can be understood as the absence of conceit. All the different things that come along with conceit are not really that beautiful or don’t resonate or when you feel that absence in ourselves or in other people. There is an aesthetic quality to it, there’s something inside of us that maybe kind of looking at something beautiful, like you see an athlete who trained well or a dancer just so beautiful to see how they are.
