    Pain: Local Intensity, Global Spread

Ines Freedman, an insight meditation teacher at the Insight Meditation Center and Insight Retreat Center who is known for her work bringing meditation to people living with chronic pain, leads this guided body scan meditation on pain (just over 25 minutes). It is a practice for turning attention toward the discomfort of body pain, and some people find it eases that discomfort. Mindfulness may change how some people relate to pain, and experiences vary. This practice complements medical care for pain; it does not replace it.
