Sean Fargo leads a walking meditation with compassion as the theme. Find a place to walk that is safe to listen to this instruction.
A note from Sean
For me, compassion begins where there is suffering. Without it, we would simply call it love or care. Some people try to fill the body with love so they don’t have to feel the hurt. I would rather offer space to what hurts than try to put it out.
Try this today. Take a slow five-minute walk, inside or out, somewhere safe. Feel the soles of your feet at each step. Bring to mind one person you care about who is having a hard time, and silently offer a wish, such as may you be at ease. Notice what your body does. If it tightens, let your steps get slower.

This suits anyone who finds sitting still hard, and anyone who wants care to feel more physical. If grief or strong emotion comes up as you walk, go gently. Stop when you need to.
