    A note from Sean

I think of it as sitting by the river of experience. We aren’t fighting the waves, building a raft, or drowning. We can just sit by and notice, without finding our place in the river or naming the river after ourselves.

Try this today. Set a timer for three minutes, shorter than the worksheet’s ten. Feel your breath. When a thought or feeling pulls you away, give it one word, like planning, judging, or warmth. Say “judging,” not “I am judging.” Then let the word go and return to the breath.

Keep going: Witnessing Your Thoughts and Working With Thoughts [Audio].

This suits anyone with a busy head. If the thoughts or feelings that arise are painful or very loud, go gently. Keep your eyes open and feel your feet. Stop when you need to.
