Guy Armstrong, a vipassana teacher, discusses the seven factors of enlightenment in this talk: mindfulness, investigation, energy, rapture, calm, concentration and equanimity.
A note from Sean
Two of the seven factors are mindfulness and concentration. I teach that each needs the other. Concentration fuels our ability to stay mindful. If you get distracted all the time, narrow in on one thing first, and come back to it each time you drift.
Try this today. Choose one anchor, such as the breath at your nostrils or the hum of a fan. Give it four minutes. Each time you drift, come back. Then spend one minute open, noticing whatever else is here. See what the first part did for the second.

This talk suits people who like the classic teachings laid out as a list. If focusing on your breath feels tight or anxious, pick a sound or your feet instead and go gently. Stop when you need to.
