Sean Fargo leads a guided meditation on how to increase optimism. In the practice you envision yourself feeling healthy and having forgiven others, which may help build a more hopeful outlook.

    A note from Sean

I like to treat forgiveness as baby steps. I ask, “If I could forgive someone just a little bit, what might that feel like?” You are not conceding anything. You are exploring the question and seeing what your body does with it.

Try this today. Picture an ordinary day a month from now, with your body feeling well. Notice what your shoulders and face do. Then ask the forgiveness question once, and write down one line about what you notice.

Keep going: Forgiveness Meditation and Positive Emotions Open Our Mind.

This suits anyone wanting a lighter outlook. If someone has hurt you badly, skip the forgiveness part, go gently, and stop when you need to.
