The happiness of renunciation may no be something that is immediately obvious. After all, renunciation in the monastic sense is the rejection of worldy beliefs and belongings. We will be giving up something that has been with us practically all our life. No more of the complicated and complex trappings of modern life. But, in this talk, Ajahn teaches us that happiness actually needs to be simple.

Do you agree? Is there happiness in renunciation? Would you do the same if given the chance? Let us know in the comments below.
