    Day 9 of 28

    Whole Body Breathing

    Today’s practice

    Whole Body Breathing

6 min, guided by Sean Fargo

Today we explore whole body breathing: feeling the breath not just at the nose but in the chest, the ribs, the belly. The aliveness of it.

    In your day

Whenever you notice you are up in your head, maybe asking: where is the breath in the body right now?

    From Sean

Mindfulness of the body is foundational, a default we can always come back to: sensing into the body as we breathe, sit, walk, stand, eat. It is easy to think, same body, same experience. It is not. The body is always changing, and each breath is brand new.

    A question to carry

Did breathing with the whole body change your mood or your steadiness?

Saved on this device only, and kept for all 28 days.

A few lines, for whatever they are worth

    Not only at the nose.
    The ribs widen,
    the belly rises,
the back fills like a sail.
    The whole body
    was breathing the whole time.

    Integrated Practice:

During a transition time today (e.g. between meetings at work, just before entering your house, just before going to bed), pause and take a whole body breath.

    Reflection Questions:

How does stopping to take a whole body breath affect your mood or attitude?

    Your progress

Day by day. No streak to protect.
