This is a 14-minute Alan Watts guided meditation video discussing his method of establishing a meditative state and reaching self-awareness.

Alan Watts Meditation

There seems to be a constant hum of activity in the majority of our lives. Even when we find physical stillness at the end of a long day, the mind often continues to race. Thoughts about things we should have done differently or fears we may have about things to come.

On a physical level, relaxation has very observable and measurable signs. In fact, these signs of relaxation can be grouped into a physiological response we all have. One that is aptly named ‘the relaxation response’. This term, coined by Dr. Herbert Benson, refers to the physiological state of deep rest and relaxation.

About the author

Before I realized words were my calling, I was stringing together language of a different sort, code. I taught myself to program while in school (for philosophy), and built WordPress sites for a living. It was a grind, but it was fun. Until it wasn’t. Lucky for my sanity, I found this little thing called writing. Now, I write in the technology space, it was a natural extension of my skills. I know tech and I know writing. Why not combine them.
And that brings us to the present day. Creating epic content for tech-related websites, startups, SaaS businesses, and high-traffic online business and marketing blogs. I only write for companies who I’m passionate about.
