    A note from Sean

When I guide a meditation, I catch a forward lean, in my body and in my tongue, to fill every pause with words. We do the same in conversation. I lean back a little and check: is this a good time to speak, or can we rest in the pause?

Try this today. In your next conversation, take one breath before you reply. Feel your feet or your hands. Notice the pull to fill the quiet, and see what happens if you let it sit for a moment.

Keep going: Mindful Speech and A Guided Meditation On Right Speech.

This suits anyone who wants calmer conversations at home or at work. If a conversation is raw or painful, go gently. Stop when you need to.
