When I lived as a monk in Thailand, I remember sitting quietly with my teacher one morning after meditation.
I was trying so hard to get it right to stop thinking, to sit perfectly still, to look like a true monk. My teacher smiled and said, βPeace doesnβt come from effort. It comes when we stop trying to make this moment any different than it is.β
That moment changed how I understood practice. Mindfulness isnβt about achieving a higher state or escaping discomfort, itβs about meeting life exactly as it is, with compassion, curiosity, and care, even in uncertainty.
The Heart of the Practice
Whether youβre guiding a client, teaching a class, supporting a patient, or simply sitting with your own emotions the practice is the same.
Be with whatβs here. Let it unfold.
When we can be fully present not fixing, not analyzing, just witnessing we create space for others (and ourselves) to feel safe enough to grow.
Thereβs no need to be perfect. Thereβs only presence.
βMindfulness isnβt about fixing others β itβs about being so present with them that they remember they were never broken.β β Sean Fargo
