Death Awareness Meditation, with Sean Fargo

Our death is certain. The exact moment of our death is not. Compassionately exploring the truth of impermanence can help us hone in on what’s most important and meaningful for us, clarifying our priorities.

In this episode, Mindfulness Exercises founder, Sean Fargo, leads a 21-minute meditation on death awareness. The meditation begins with a grounding exploration of sensation in the body and breath. We then shift awareness to the miraculous resilience of the body, and also, its fragility.

Deepen your gratitude and appreciation for this present-moment life-sustaining breath, by turning toward the truth that it could be the last.

Please do not practice this if you're struggling with unresolved trauma or depression. A sense of loving awareness, self-compassion and self-forgiveness is very important.)
