    A note from Sean

Try this today. Tonight, ask your child, “If you were telling me about the weather inside you, what would you tell me?” Share your own weather first: “I’m a little cloudy today.” Then ask, “Is it staying the same, or changing?” and “What do you feel inside?” There are no right answers. Keep it short, about one minute for each year of age, and sit beside them while they answer.

This suits parents and caregivers of children who are old enough to talk about how they feel. If your child is upset, or your own day has been hard, go gently. Name the weather together and let it be. There is nothing to fix. Stop when you need to.
