Speaker 2 · 0:14In terms of what to say to a company who might be interested in something, what I found helpful is to ask them what they want. What do you need? What challenges are you facing? What goals do you have? What's going on? What have you tried that's worked? What have you tried that hasn't worked? How do you think I might be able to help you? What would you want from me? What would make a workshop or a class successful for you? What criteria are you looking for? And then to respond to that with something relevant. Saying, great, you know, I have something that I think would be very useful for you based on everything that you just shared me. I have a choice of a two-hour presentation or a half day or a full day or a two-day workshop. Or if you wish, we can string it out like one hour a week for eight weeks or something like that. You know, you could pay on a sliding scale, like between X and Y price. Maybe I'll do like a free trial run or a free intro. And if you like that, we can then talk about next steps, or we can talk about pricing. Here is like a very brief bullet point summary of what I'll cover. Here's another section of the benefits or outcomes that are likely, or like the learnings that your team will have. You know, maybe here's a few lines about how these types of trainings have been helpful for other companies or institutions or academic settings that are similar to yours. Here's a maybe a few reminders that this is secular, this is not woo-woo, this is evidence-based, this is grounded in science. This is not religious, this is not thought control. Maybe here's a couple of testimonials about either me or the practices that I'm sharing. Maybe here's a couple links to some research papers online about the efficacy of what I'm teaching. It can't hurt to share testimonials about you if you can get them. Maybe they're friends, maybe they're family members, people that you've taught for free. And the more free teachings you offer, then I recommend getting testimonials or endorsements from the people you do teach for free. And start collecting those. And also just feedback in general, whether they liked it or not, you know, so that you can learn how to keep improving. You know, that was actually the most valuable thing for me when I first did my free teachings, was I got feedback on what I did well and what I didn't do so well. And so I learned a lot. But collecting endorsements, collecting testimonials, and if you can, or if you feel comfortable with this, also doing like a survey or assessment form before and after your free teachings, if you can, where people fill out a survey about you know how they're feeling, how they relate to certain environments, how they react to certain things, their ability to sense into the moment without judgment. There's all sorts of mindfulness assessment forms out there, and I actually include quite a few in your resources in the members area, but to have an assessment before your training and then after your training so that you can get like more objective quantitative results of your training that you can then share with others. Like past students of mine have resulted in a 63% increase in X and a 22% decrease in Y. So that you have some objective quantitative data that you can share too. So that can be very helpful in marketing yourself, if you will. So those are a few ideas, and then in regard to social media, I think generosity is important. You know, like today, I just sent out a newsletter to a lot of people, the five mindful musings newsletter, and shared like five things that I think is helpful. None of it is paid, you know, I'm not asking for anything, it's just hey, I think this is cool, and you know, hopefully it's helpful for you. If not, no worries. But with social media too, you can say, you know, here's a couple of free tips. If you want to learn more, click this link or schedule a call with me or something like that. You know, you don't want to be sleazy or cheesy or preachy. You need to check your heart on how you relate to this and try to approach this with compassion and generosity. That spirit of generosity feels good, it is good, and then people may want to work with you at some point.
