Join Sean Fargo For A Live, Online Mindfulness Meditation Retreat:

March 9th & 10th

"Deepening Our Mindfulness Meditation Practice - Together”

, Retreat

We know mindfulness is beneficial. But how can we move past our logical understanding to a deep, unshakable, felt experience of mindfulness?

Practice is what alchemizes our cognitive awareness of the benefits of mindfulness into an embodied, lived experience. A mindfulness and meditation retreat allows us to dedicate ourselves to practice in a manner that’s just not available to us amidst our everyday busyness. Dedicate yourself to practice, and become the mindfulness, compassion and loving-kindness you hope to share with others.

Please join us Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th to retreat from daily life and cultivate a kinder and more empowered relationship with your present-moment experience.

How does it work? And what are the dates and the schedule?

This retreat will be conducted online, but it will be live-streamed, which means you will meet with Sean Fargo and the senior teachers on his team, live, at each and every session. Sessions include guided mindfulness meditation followed by ample time for questions, discussion and community.

See the schedule of sessions and times to the right (or below, if you’re on a mobile device).

In each session, there will be time devoted to meditation, instruction, mindful activities and discussion.

Share your experience with others or ask questions about all things mindfulness and meditation. Receive additional guidance by listening to the experiences, questions and answers others share, ask and receive.

Completing a 2-day retreat is no small feat. It can be difficult, and tiring, and it can push you to your limits. But, I guarantee that if you complete it, you will be filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. You will know that you completed something challenging, important, and beneficial. We want to commemorate that and give you a symbol of this great accomplishment. Here’s what participants of our past retreats have said:

"Having attended several online weekend retreats with Mindfulness Exercises, I was amazed by the depth and clarity that can arise during such focused weekends. Each of the weekends offered a series of practices and sessions for questions, connected by a central theme; for example, Setting up a Regular Practice or Mindful Self Compassion. I found this an excellent way to really dive deeply into the particular focused theme and the insights gained have proved invaluable.

Sean, Gillian and Sara-Mai are all exemplary teachers with a wealth of expertise and experience to offer within the practice they lead. I love the variety of practice available and cannot get enough of Gillian and Sara-Mai’s beautiful connections to our natural world. All 3 teachers embrace and exude a deep connection to their own inner guidance and are brilliant role models and all offer gentle wisdom and nourishing guidance when responding to questions and comments.

Having gone on to complete the Mindfulness Teacher Training program, which I highly recommend, I found the retreats a perfect opportunity to deep dive into the qualities I aspire to embrace when facilitating lessons with my students. I have gained such clarity and personal healing from these weekends and recommend that everyone, including myself set aside time every 3-4 months to complete a retreat."

— Janelle Coggan

I had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed the pace and content of Sean’s retreat. This experience pushed me to go beyond anything I'd done before and go deeper into the benefits and understanding of mindfulness meditation. I am now practicing 20-minutes of mindfulness meditation every morning - something I never thought I'd do! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and it will have a permanent impact on me. I would absolutely recommend that others join a retreat with Sean because he is a master in terms of his knowledge, managing a group, and holding a safe space for all to learn and gain insight. He also clearly practices what he teaches. His energy is delightful.”

— Julia Blanton, CPCC, CPQC

"I thought this retreat might take me deeper in my meditation practice, but I was not sure about it due to past online courses with regard to using Zoom... but, you offered a money back guarantee so I decided to do it. I felt the retreat was beneficial. By the second day I was able to focus better. I learned a great deal and decided to follow your methods over the other types of meditations available. The lessons and the Q&A were helpful, but I liked the meditations the most. I would recommend the retreat to anyone interested. I would say “Try it, What have you got to lose.” Thank you for your passion and programs."

— Don Partch

The results and benefits of the retreat are hard to explain. I was immediately overcome by a feeling of complete calmness, that after each session I just wanted to be quiet, do nothing, sit quietly or go for a walk. It was a feeling of being quite comfortable with myself and my surroundings.

I think the fact that it was live, even though you were not physically with the other participants made a huge difference. I have listened to quite a few pre-recorded guided meditations and talks on the internet, but being live in real time made a huge difference.

You felt a real connection with the participants and it was a very humbling experience especially when there was the ability to reflect or voice an observation, or ask a question live with an immediate follow up from you or from other participants. And the respect everyone showed. I would definitely recommend this type of retreat as an introduction to retreats or a valid option if in-person is not viable. I felt that making the time commitment over the weekend, the time attending the sessions, and the time in between the live sessions gave me a better understanding and real awareness of what it is to be mindful. Thanks so much for giving your time and providing this experience.

— Shailendar Gill

"My first retreat ever was a virtual retreat with Mindfulness Exercises led by Sean Fargo. Leading up to the weekend, I was nervous and unsure of whether I needed to prepare or how I would make it through the hours of meditation practice. I kept an open mind and decided to just show up and be present and let things unfold. […] The opening brought me such peace. Several other participants shared their own fears and trepidation so I knew I was not alone in how I entered this first retreat experience. I was also worried about it being remote since carving space and time was definitely a challenge.

Sean's presence and calm, slow, deliberate instruction provided a supportive guidance to the entire weekend. Time flew "just sitting" and I enjoyed the walking meditation far more than I thought I might as that part was something I was nervous about, too. […] I highly recommend Sean Fargo and Mindfulness Exercises for anyone whether you have a lot of retreat experience or are brand-new and worried about such a full weekend of meditation. You will find a welcoming, accepting, understanding, and supportive guide in Sean!"

— Kate Robinson

"Thank you, Sean, for offering such a safe and healing space during our online retreat. I appreciate the work you, Sara-Mai and Gillian put into this weekend. I have attempted mindfulness and meditation over the years, but always with the intention of "making myself feel better". […] This weekend was amazing for me because I was able to sit and feel whatever came up, instead of going into each meditation hoping it would somehow "fix" me. I started each practice from a neutral place, and it felt so refreshing. I actually wasn't sure I was feeling "enough" as we worked through yesterday's practices, but during the last practice today the tears wouldn't stop flowing.

I feel like I have gotten my life back, after almost two decades of what I can now see as extreme anxiety. In the past, I knew in theory that mindfulness and meditation worked, but it never clicked for me. I came across your ad on Facebook […] and a retreat felt like exactly what I needed. I also just signed up for the 100 Day Challenge so I can make sure to expand on the practices from the retreat, and look forward to seeing what else you have to offer."

Why do a mindfulness & meditation retreat?

Because you get much greater results, in much less time. Your host for this retreat, Sean Fargo, is a leading corporate mindfulness teacher and former Buddhist monk, and he’ll tell you that, as a monk, every day of your life is a retreat. This is because Buddhist monks (and the most accomplished mindfulness practitioners) have figured out that retreats are the best way to accelerate and deepen your mindfulness, presence, and meditation practice... in a short period of time.

Anyone can do a 10-minute-a-day practice, but the purpose of a 2-day retreat is to go deeper to settle the mind... to learn how to work with discomfort... learn how to deal with “your stuff”... and come to embody the practice and qualities of mindfulness, awareness and compassion that you hope to share with others.

Retreats are not easy. They’re difficult by nature. But, when you embrace the difficulty and do a retreat, you’ll learn things, and you’ll experience things, that you never could just doing a 10-minute-a-day practice. You’ll learn how to deal with the things you haven’t been dealing with... and do it with care... with curiosity... with openness... with allowance, acceptance, and courage. THIS is what REALLY leads to more peace, presence, and personal power in your life.

, Retreat

Why do this retreat?

REASON #1: Rapidly accelerate and deepen your overall mindfulness, meditation practice, healing, and growth, in a short period of time.

As mentioned, retreats are the best way to achieve more in your practice, in a very short period of time. When you do a retreat like this one, you’re creating an internal space for yourself, a place you can always retreat to. You’re letting go of external distractions for a longer time than you normally do. You’re also spending a lot more time meditating and being mindful, for almost two full days. Doing all of these things creates the proper space and conditions that foster rapid acceleration and deepening of your mindfulness, presence, healing, growth, and resilience.

REASON #2: Devote more time to self-care and self-compassion.

In this retreat, you will learn how to identify, accept, and detach from the many self-critical thoughts and feelings we all experience, those that cause so much suffering in our daily lives. Giving yourself a full weekend of mindfulness, apart from your typical routine, is the ultimate in self-care. A spa day will offer relief, but a weekend meditation retreat gifts you lasting peace.

REASON #3: Learn how to transform discomfort, pain and stress into an opportunity for greater resilience.

It is possible to go from experiencing overwhelming emotions, self-criticism, pain and suffering on a daily basis ... to consistently being self-compassionate and, more kind to yourself ... physically, mentally, and emotionally. In this retreat, you’ll learn how to remain present with your emotions, apply self-compassion, and transform any experience into an opportunity for growth. Feel more peace, calm, confidence, and happiness, every day.

REASON #4: Experience all the benefits of a traditional in-person retreat - from the comfort of your own home.

It's not necessary to spend a lot of time and money to travel to a far-away retreat. You can experience the depth of practice, community belonging, and profound transformation a retreat offers, right where you are.

Sara-Mai Conway is a writer, yoga and meditation instructor living and working in Baja Sur, Mexico. In addition to online offerings, she teaches donation-based community classes in her tiny, off-grid hometown on the Pacific coast.

In 2006, after a successful career as a rowing coach, Sara-Mai found yoga when looking for new ways to cross-train for her own competitive racing. At first, it was the athleticism and physical challenge of yoga that drew her in. Years later, it is the spiritual side of the practice that keeps yoga and meditation part of her daily life.

Sara-Mai’s personal practice is firmly rooted in the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. As a teacher, her meditations are also influenced by her studies of yogic philosophy, mindfulness and the satipatthana sutta.

Sara-Mai completed a Master's Degree in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco in 2004 and is a 1999 graduate of Tufts University. She is a certified 500-hour Remedial Yoga and Applied Mindfulness Advanced teacher with Bodhi Yoga Spain under the Independent Yoga Network (UK). The real power of a retreat comes from committing yourself to being there... being present for all of the sessions... and participating fully in all of them. Having said that, we understand that things come up. So, we’ll be recording all of the sessions just in case you can’t make any of them. But we do strongly recommend that you try your best to attend as many as you can — this is how you will get the most out of this retreat.

We want as many people to have access to this information, teaching, and training as possible, so yes, we do provide financial support for those who need it. If you’d like to request a scholarship or financial aid for this retreat, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll do everything we can to try to help.

Why should I attend a retreat? Why not just learn and practice on my own for
10 or 20 minutes a day?

Because by attending a retreat, you can get much greater results, in much less time. Sean Fargo, your host for this retreat, is a former Buddhist monk, and he’ll tell you that being a monk is like attending a mindfulness meditation retreat every single day. Monks do this because they (and the most accomplished mindfulness practitioners) have figured out that retreats are the best way to accelerate and deepen your mindfulness, presence, and meditation practice... in a short period of time.

Anyone can do a 10-minute-a-day practice, but the purpose of a 3-day retreat is to go deeper and really settle your mind... and learn how to work with discomfort... learn how to deal with “your stuff”... and really face all the parts of your psyche that you’d rather not face.

Retreats are not easy. They’re difficult by nature. And that’s WHY they work so well. When you embrace the difficulty and do a retreat, you’ll learn things, and you’ll experience things, that you never could just doing a 10-minute-a-day practice. You’ll learn how to deal with the things you haven’t been dealing with... and do it with care... with curiosity... with openness... with allowance, acceptance, and courage. THIS is what REALLY leads to more peace, presence, and personal power in your life.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is open to everyone — there are no requirements for participation, and you will benefit from it whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced practitioner.

This retreat is especially good for people who are too hard on themselves, and struggle with incessant self-critical thinking. But, it’s also great for people who already feel centered and present much of the time, but would like to deepen and expand their practice, and explore self-compassion and resilience more specifically.

Why should I do this retreat with Sean Fargo?

Sean Fargo has practiced, and taught, mindfulness and meditation in a wide variety of settings, with a wide variety of people, in a wide variety of formats.

Sean was a Buddhist monk for 2 years, so he brings experience on a spiritual level that few other mindfulness teachers can. He has also consulted with and developed mindfulness programs for large businesses and government organizations — he’s worked with Fortune 500 corporations like Google, Facebook, and Tesla, world-class health organizations like Kaiser Permanente, and even government agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sean has also worked with incarcerated people in prisons, in hospitals and clinical settings, working with doctors to incorporate mindfulness to help patients with chronic pain, and he has experience working with teens, families, and more.

This breadth and depth of experience means that during this retreat, you’ll have direct access to someone who can help you with almost any imaginable situation as it relates to your mindfulness and meditation. Past students have found Sean’s unique and widely-varied experiences to be a tremendous advantage in helping them become more present, more mindful, and more centered, faster and easier, then they ever have in the past.
