Why attend this Meditation Retreat?

REASON #1: Deepen your overall mindfulness, meditation practice, healing, and growth, in a short period of time.
When you do a retreat like this one, you’re creating an internal space for yourself. You’re letting go of external distractions for longer than usual. You’re spending three days deepening your self-awareness by practicing powerful meditations and mindfulness exercises. This creates the proper space and conditions to foster rapid acceleration of your mindfulness, presence, healing, growth, and resilience.

REASON #2: Become more aware of what gets you off-track.
Before we can effectively work with them and transform them, we must become aware of the different self-critical thoughts and feelings we experience on a daily basis. In this retreat, you’ll practice identifying, accepting, and detaching from all the different self-critical thoughts and feelings that cause pain and suffering in your life.

REASON #3: Transform self-critical thoughts and feelings into self-care and resilience.
It is possible to go from experiencing self-criticism, guilt, and self-loathing on a daily basis to consistently being kind to yourself. In this retreat, you’ll directly apply skills that help you transform your self-critical thoughts and feelings into abundant self-compassion and resilience so you can feel more peace, calm, confidence, and happiness, every day.

REASON #4: Accelerate your personal transformation through knowledge and direct experience of focused guided practices.
Not only will this retreat give you inspiration and remind you of key insights you may (or may not) already know, but you’ll also get a chance to integrate them so you remember how to use them when it counts most – in the midst of your daily life. You’ll walk away with practical self-compassion and resilience techniques you can practice any time after the retreat… even off the meditation cushion.

REASON #5: Sean, Gillian and Sara-Mai will guide you through mindfulness exercises that focus on:
There’s no better time than now to practice replacing the voice of the inner critic with the loving voice of kindness, self-trust, & resilience. So you can live a life that’s mindful and free of self-judgment.
AN ONLINE RETREAT THAT MAKES IT EASY
Finding the time to focus on your inner world for three days can seem impossible…
The structure of this retreat gives you everything you need to break out of the routines that lead to the same old thought patterns and behaviors.
In these 11+ hours of mindfulness, meditation, and reflection, you’ll benefit from:

Space & time for you
Having a structured space in which to practice makes it easier to show up for yourself when you’d normally be answering to outside demands.

Like-minded community
Feel a sense of connection as you meet like-minded souls. Share or learn from others. Know that you’re not the only one with your questions.

Personalized support
Stop wondering whether you’re doing it “right”...simply ask Sean. Anything you’ve been wondering about mindfulness will be answered live in the Q&A sessions.
As you join the weekend sessions, Sean, Gillian and Sara-Mai will guide you through live guided meditations and different mindfulness exercises. These will be followed by a sharing and Q&A session.
WHO IS THIS RETREAT FOR?
This retreat is open to everyone — there are no requirements for participation. You’ll benefit whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced practitioner.
This retreat is designed to especially benefit those who want to:
This retreat is also great for people who are overworked, overwhelmed, and overstressed. If you’re struggling to get by or to “keep it all together”, you’ll find that practicing more self-compassion will help you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
Whatever aspect of mindfulness you want to strengthen, this retreat gives you a whole weekend of practice, community, and support.
If you’ve done mindfulness retreats before but love learning different practices, you’ll enjoy the new techniques you’ll gain on this retreat.
Already meditate daily? This retreat is perfect to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone, practice, and go deeper so you can apply the skills of self-compassion and resilience with more ease every day.

“I had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed the pace and content of Sean’s retreat. This experience pushed me to go beyond anything I'd done before and go deeper into the benefits and understanding of mindfulness meditation. I am now practicing 20-minutes of mindfulness meditation every morning - something I never thought I'd do! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and it will have a permanent impact on me. I would absolutely recommend that others join a retreat with Sean because he is a master in terms of his knowledge, managing a group, and holding a safe space for all to learn and gain insight. He also clearly practices what he teaches. His energy is delightful.”
Julia Blanton, CPCC, CPQC

“The results and benefits of the retreat are hard to explain. I was immediately overcome by a feeling of complete calmness. After each session, I just wanted to be quiet, do nothing, sit quietly or go for a walk. It was a feeling of being quite comfortable with myself and my surroundings. Making the time commitment over the weekend, the time attending the sessions, and the time in between the live sessions gave me a better understanding and real awareness of what it is to be mindful. Thanks so much for giving your time and providing this experience.”
Shailendar Gill, Certified Yoga Teacher and Visual Artist

“I attended the three day retreat and while having practiced mindfulness for a number of years now, I had never attended a retreat. I found the practices to be very approachable, leaving time for reflection and awareness, without a sense of overwhelm in between sessions. I thought the format of practice versus teaching to be very good and what I was looking for. Sean has a very nice manner - calm, centered, inviting — and that went a long way for encouraging commitment throughout the weekend. I found that in the weeks following, I had a very solid embodied feeling, much less fragmented which at times can occur in my way of being. Thank you Sean for the experience. I will definitely attend a longer retreat hopefully in person soon.”

In 2006, after a successful career as a rowing coach, Sara-Mai found yoga when looking for new ways to cross-train for her own competitive racing. At first, it was the athleticism and physical challenge of yoga that drew her in. Years later, it is the spiritual side of the practice that keeps yoga and meditation part of her daily life.
Sara-Mai’s personal practice is firmly rooted in the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. As a teacher, her meditations are also influenced by her studies of yogic philosophy, mindfulness and the satipatthana sutta.

She is a certified 500-hour Remedial Yoga and Applied Mindfulness Advanced teacher with Bodhi Yoga Spain under the Independent Yoga Network (UK). Jack Kornfield, Bestselling Author and Founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center

"I was always grateful to work with Sean Fargo when he was at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. I find him an unusual combination of great emotional intelligence and the diligence and perseverance to get any job done. His caring and kindness are exemplary, as is his clarity and awareness."

He’s been trained as a monk in the traditional teachings and methods of the Buddha, and he’s also worked in corporate settings while raising a family. In other words, he has tremendous depth and breadth. He is also very very kind, with bone-deep integrity, excellent communication and teaching skills, inclusive open-minded awareness, and a sweetly supportive manner. He really is the best, and I recommend him wholeheartedly.”
Dr. Rick Hanson, New York Times Bestselling Author of Resilience And Hardwiring Happiness

"It is a privilege to contribute to Sean Fargo's mindfulness teacher certification program. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the classes nourishes and reflects everything that is taught. This is mindfulness training in the truest sense."

“I attended the retreat as I was in lockdown and needed some inspiration and guidance from an expert teacher to boost my own practice and teaching. As I had prepared for this retreat thoughtfully (moved into silence at home, no work/engagements to do, planned for not dealing with any communication in any form etc) - it did what I had anticipated. I had a deep drop into a space of silence and contemplation of what was happening for me in each moment. I really loved the gentle, caring, expert guidance from Sean. Would definitely recommend it to newcomers to meditation and those who live in the US. Thank you Sean. I really appreciate your deep wisdom and approach to meditation."
Alison Mac Taggart

“I greatly appreciated the weekend and found it immensely helpful for my attitude and serenity. Sean did an outstanding job facilitating and being present for others. I really enjoyed the meditations and discussions afterward. I wish everyone on planet Earth could participate in this retreat. I have recommended the retreat to other friends. I also greatly appreciated the resources available to further my mindfulness.”
Sue McDonald

"I thought this retreat might take me deeper in my meditation practice, but I was not sure about it due to past online courses with regard to using Zoom... but, you offered a money back guarantee so I decided to do it. I felt the retreat was beneficial. By the second day I was able to focus better. I learned a great deal and decided to follow your methods over the other types of meditations available. The lessons and the Q&A were helpful, but I liked the meditations the most. I would recommend the retreat to anyone interested. I would say “Try it, What have you got to lose.” Thank you for your passion and programs."

You may become aware of subtler layers of mental conditioning or open up to sensations and micro-movements in your body that you normally wouldn’t notice. A retreat provides the space in which you can be with your mind in a kind and non-judgmental manner long enough to actually cause significant improvements in your daily life.
