Qoya is based on the idea through movement, we remember. We remember our essence is wise, wild and free. Using movement as metaphor and infusing movement with meaning, the words wise, wild, and free are not only archetypical energies that we all possess, but these words also draw reference to the movement forms we practice.

Free – expanding our capacity to enjoy being in our body through sensual movement
Through movement, we remember those things that can never be put into words. When you see a sunset, and your whole body exhales. When you feel the thrill of adventure as you get in your car and hit the open road. When you get caught up in the contagious laughter of a child. When you feel the warmth of your lover’s body in bed or the fulfillment of doing your soul work in the world. When you catch up with a dear friend and at the end of the conversation, you really feel like everything is going to be okay. When you switch from going through motions and living out of obligation or just getting through the day into the realm of the sacred.
In Qoya movement, there is no way you can do it wrong and the way you know you are doing it right is that it feels good to you. More than feeling good, that it feels honest. That it feels true.
