According to the Dalai Lama, it is important to breathe when you are experience anxiety and annoyance. Do nothing but breathe. After some time breathing, your mental state will turn from annoyance to calm. This is the essence of meditation and we are doing it not for the future, heaven, or the afterlife, but for the now, in your day to day life.
