Do you know what I was like when I first started as a mindfulness and meditation teacher?
I had imposter syndrome.
I was certain that every day was going to be the day my students and my peers would finally figure out that I was a fraud, and didn’t know what the heck I was doing.
I compared myself to other mindfulness teachers who seemed much better than me. I couldn’t help it.
Every time I studied another mindfulness or meditation teacher, or listened to them speak, or read their article, or used their guided meditation... that voice in my head would always chime in and say, “You’re nowhere near that good... and you’ll never be that good... you should just give up now.”
I worried I wasn’t mindful enough in my own practice.
That voice in my head made sure to remind me daily that I wasn’t mindful 100% of the time, and “how can I be TEACHING this, if I’m not mindful all the time?”
I was insecure and besieged by self-doubt a lot of the time.
This was all new to me, and so I was scared... I had a lot of self-doubt, and I felt insecure about my ability to actually help people.
In other words... I’ve been EXACTLY where you are. But you have something I didn't have back then...
